This is a 4-6-week board and train program that is geared towards the family dog (Medium to Large breeds).  The dog will be taught the most important commands (sit, here or come, heel, down, kennel, and place) and will respond to them both on and off leash.  The client will be instructed on how to handle and maintain their dog at the end of the program.  Full-time care and food is included.

This program typically takes 3-5 months depending on the talent level of the dog.  It includes all basic obedience commands, force fetch, and E-collar conditioning.  Dogs will be introduced to duck calls, decoys, boats, blinds, gun fire, and both live and dead birds.  The client will receive a dog that is steady to shot and will make single retrieves on both land and water and deliver to hand.  The dog will also have the foundation for more advanced training if the client desires to do so. 

This program is a continuation of the Started Retriever program for those who desire a fully trained "finished" hunting companion.  In addition to the skills taught as a Started Retriever, the Finished Retriever will be able to make multiple marked and blind retrieves using whistle commands and hand signals.  It typically takes an additional 4-6 months on top of the Started Retriever program to complete.  

Only retriever breeds will be eligible for this program.

Retrievers are given live ducks, pheasants, and/or pigeons to retrieve

We compete in multiple venues (AKC/UKC) for the clients who not only want a great hunting companion, but also desire to put official titles on their dogs. There is a handling/road fee to participate in events.
